August Challenge Book 4
Good morning!
It's the 7th of August and only last night did I finish book 4 of this challenge, oops!
I feel like instead of "day 1", "day 2", etc, these blog posts should be titled by book number. So I think that's what I'll do from now because I'm so far behind that I can barely catch up.
Anyway, onto book 4. If you read my last post, you might remember I hoped to finish book 4 on Friday, after finishing book 3 (Alex Neptune, Dragon Thief) on Wednesday evening. Sadly that didn't happen, but it was only because I spent so much time on Friday writing that I didn't have as much time to read as I had wanted!
I know I keep saying it's okay and I'll catch up, but I'm now two full books behind, not even a full week in, and I'm no so sure anymore😅
But the thing is, this challenge is not about forcing myself to read, but about enjoying the books and trying to get some more reading time in everyday. So if I don't make it to 31 books, that's fine. I still have a feeling that I'll read more books this month than I ever have in any previous months.
I'll stop rambling now, promise :)
Onto book 4!

The fourth book I read in this challenge was AMAZING. I loved it from the very first page and to anybody thinking about it, read it if you get the chance for sure!!
I was absolutely over the moon and so fortunate to receive an advanced copy of Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid from the publishers. The day it arrived through the post, I screamed because I didn't even know I would be getting one.
And let me tell you, it lived up to its expectations.
I didn't have all that much time to read on Friday, but yesterday I couldn't put it down!
Yesterday was also my last day at work, so I couldn't finish it earlier than when I did in the evening, but during my lunch break and when I got home I was completely absorbed into the story.
This was an easy 5 star rating for me and it's made me want to read all of TJR's other books too (so far I've only read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo). Her writing is just so unique and entertaining that it's always hard to put her work down!
So for the next book, I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to go for. I'm not sure if I'm in the mood for a fantasy, YA, psychological thriller or a romance. Or basically anything else. I think I might go for The Society For Soulless Girls, a young adult fantasy/thriller by Laura Stevens which was also sent to me by the publisher.
But if I change my mind, don'y be too surprised!
I'm sorry this post felt so chaotic and came so late! I will be trying to update everyday but there we go :) Maybe I'll do a daily post regardless on what I have read and tell you all how the day went, even if I didn't finish a book :)
Thank you again for reading my posts and keeping up to date with my challenge! Let me know in the comments if you're also excited about Carrie Soto is Back - I've already started to plan a whole collection based on it for my business :)
I hope you have a lovely day!
