August Reading Challenge Book 5
Good morning!
It's currently the morning of Monday 8th August as I write this, and I still have not finished reading book 5. I started The Society for Soulless Girls yesterday, but I was busy all day and din't really have time to read until the evening.
It's interesting so far. It's a bit slower than I'm used to, but it's dual-POVed (is this a term?) so that's probably why. Reading it so far, I think I'm really going to enjoy it. It's mysterious and I'm not sure yet if it's spooky but it's definitely giving creepy vibes, which I love!
As of right now, I'm not even a quarter of the way through the book and I've got quite a bit to get done today on the business and editing for book 2, but I'll carve out some solid reading time today, too. Hopefully, if nothing else, I will at least finish this book today.
I did read a little this morning but got a bit sidetracked on Tiktok (I'm only human) so we'll see how things go.
Before I leave again, I think tomorrow and Wednesday I'll go for some shorter books. I recently bought Convenience Store Woman and The Mad Women's Ball, as well as Heatwave, which are all relatively short. And since I have some busy days coming up as well as prep to do for the holiday (I'm flying out on Saturday) I think those might be a good idea.
Anyway, I'm off now but hopefully I'll be back to update you later.
Hello, I'm back. It's 6pm and I've spent all day editing and designing and digitising and I'm about to make dinner and leave to see my nan this evening, so I really don't think I'm going to end up finishing the book today. Again.
I'm about a quarter of the way through the book at the moment and hoping to read more when I get home this evening because it's so intriguing! But anywho, I'll keep you updated once again when I have something to update you on.
Right, so it's now the morning of the 11th August and I've only just finished reading this book.
It was a good book, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't seem to keep going with it. There was mystery but it didn't entice me enough to want to continue reading and I think that's why it took me so long to read this one. Obviously this poses a slight problem, as I am 5 books behind already (oops). But it's fine.
I do have a lot to get done today (in terms of my writing) because I have a deadline, but hopefully I'll still get some solid reading time in. I think I will read Around the World in 80 Days next, because I started it ages ago but left my copy at work and didn't get it back and then I just didn't carry on reading, etc. But I would like to finish it so that might be book 6!
